This QCF approved course is delivered in a classroom. This is a 30 credit course for introductory business practices, more in depth than either the award or certificate programmes. The specialist programmes are designed for those students which will be integral to the running of a business. Students will study four optional units in this programme, Tailored Organisation Techniques in Business, People in Organisations, Business Decision-Making, and Business Improvement Tools and Techniques. The student will complete their studies with Promoting and Branding in Retail Business. These units are designed to give the student the best competitive advantage in a business environment.

    Youth unemployment is the highest in 23 years at 1.02 million (16-24 year olds). The total unemployment rate was 2.62 million or 8.3% of the working population as of September 2011, and is expected to reach 3 million (Office of National Statistics ONS) any day soon. Female unemployment is standing at 1.09 million, and highest in the South east.

I joined career Studies College in 2010 to study for an NVQ level 3 course in health and Social care. The support given me during this course has been an invaluable tool in improving my career development. The assessors and teachers at Career studies have given me the opportunity to join an unstinting and dynamic team whose philosophy lies on developing a sense of knowledge and professionalism in all they do. I have now been given another opportunity to complete my PTTLS award and well and truly on the way to developing the career I crave and ultimately my dreams.
